Pound Hill Software has created a schema and dialogs for the Visual Resources Association's VRA Core 4.0 metadata standard (http://www.vraweb.org/projects/vracore4/index.html). VRA Core 4.0 XMP Single Records is a port of VRA Core 4.0 XML metadata schema to XMP. It provides up to five VRA records to describe the Image, Work (pictured), and Collection for cataloging cultural objects. MetaGrove is a software suite of products that provides advanced XMP metadata capabilities to users of Adobe Creative Suite.

VRA Core 4.0, released 2007-04-09, is an XML metadata standard for the cultural heritage community. It provides a categorical organization for describing works of visual culture, such as artwork and architecture, as well as the images that document them.

The VRA Core 4.0 XMP (MetaGrove) schema (.sch) is a faithful element by element, attibute by attribute, container by container representation of the VRA Core 4.0 XML schema. The schema includes the seven containers of identical "VRA records" that are nested up to two layers deep. There is a MetaGrove dialog (.mcr) for the full seven nested container structure (full) VRA Core 4.0 XMP.

VRA Core 4.0 XMP Single Records MetaGrove dialog taps into the schema for separate, single VRA records that are each "contained" in the XMP packet. It is like the single container structure of VRA Core 3.0. Each VRA Core 4.0 XMP Single Record in the XMP packet has a different namespace. Five MetaGrove dialog files (.mcr), one for each namespace, provide access to the five VRA Core 4.0 XMP Single Records. The VRA Core 4.0 XMP Single Records dialog should meet the XMP requirements of many VRA Core 4.0 users.
